Measurements

When measuring for window treatments, accuracy is crucial to ensure a perfect fit. Here are some common measurement options for different types of window treatments:

  1. Inside Mount:

    • Measure the width inside the window frame at the top, middle, and bottom.

    • Measure the height inside the window frame on the left, center, and right.

    • Use the smallest width and height measurements for a precise fit.

  2. Outside Mount:

    • Measure the width and height outside the window frame, beyond the edges.

    • For width, measure from the outermost points where the treatment will be installed.

    • For height, measure from the top of the window frame to where you want the treatment to end.

  3. Blinds and Shades:

    • Inside Mount: Measure the width and height inside the window frame as described above.

    • Outside Mount: Measure the width and height beyond the window frame for the desired coverage.

Always use a metal tape measure for accurate measurements. Additionally, consider if you want your window treatment to be mounted inside or outside the window frame, and whether you prefer the treatments to hang to the window sill, below it, or reach the floor for proper measurements. If in doubt, consulting a professional or referring to the specific manufacturer's guidelines can be beneficial.
